B&M builds excellent coolers, very strong construction. If you're going to go with a higher stall TC, get the biggest cooler you can fit (B&M 19K or 24K would be good). For stock applications, the B&M 16K is plenty big. I've got the 16K on my Z28 with a stock TC and stock motor and it's just fine for that setup.

Most will agree that stop & go city traffic in hot summer weather can cause excessive heat. A good investment for those with high stall converters is a Trans Temp Gauge. Worth their weight in gold!
You have to be careful the way you hook up your lines when installing a cooler. Here are a couple of good threads to read, one old, one fairly new. Different people do not always agree about how cool to keep your trans, but one thing most will agree on is how to hook up the cooler to bypass the factory trans cooler. These two threads will help you understand the difference and what to watch for. Hope this helps and Good luck.

I have two 24K B&Ms, for my SS3800. Overkill, yes, but, I have seen my temps get up to and over 200* in traffic, in 100+* Sacramento summer heat, and a good sized commute, in stop and go traffic. After removing the cooling baffles, in front of the radiator and condensor, and relocating a different washer bottle, it wouldn' t get above 180* under the same conditions. Also, after doing all this and bolting the coolers to the back of the bumper bar, my coolant temps never went above 215*, where as they would get to 230+* and keep slowly climbing.
At least a 24K
