Default tailshaft seal

ok my tailshaft seal is leaking and im planing on changing it and i want to know how hard it is and how would i go about doin it.. i know you have to pull the drive shaft and then what? thanx and any tips would be great thanx

Remove driveshaft. Remove old seal, install new seal It's simple.

you also have to remove the yoke to get that seal out!! and there is a torque spec. to put the yoke back on. if you want to get technical!!! it's a rotational torque thing for the bolt on the yoke for the crush sleeve. so your pinion shaft isn't slopping around.

Wrong part. He said tailshaft, not pinion seal. Tailshaft is stated on first reply, my only suggestion is to loosen the crossmember bushing bolt and raise the rear of the trans to keep fluid from leaking during R&R.

The vast majority of times if the seal is leaking, the bushing will have to much clearance. Replace the bushing with the teflon type, and use the Vamac 3-lip rear seal. Make sure the driveshaft yoke is perfectly smooth & round (close to a mirror finish) where the seal & bushing ride. I hope this helps.
