What do you want to do with the car?

Are you going to be racing it at the track or just having fun with it on the street?

What kind of performance do you want out of it?

Is it your daily driver or just a weekend toy?

A small stall (2400-2800) won't do a hell of a lot for performance but it will be easy to drive on the street. A midsize stall (3000-3800) will be good for street racing/light track use. A big stall (4000+) is really for track use only and would not be fun to drive on the street.

After talking w/alot of people i would say that a 3500 would be good, 3000 minimum. A 3500 is probably the most commonly used and there has to be a reason for that, streetablitiy depends on how much you'll sacrafice, parking lots are definatly going to be different, but once it locks up its like your stock TC, and i think the lock up speed is realtivly low, like 30mph or something. Big crowded city driving would be an experience w/speed limits of 25 everywhere but other than that i think a 3500 will be great for you. Of course it will rev up a lil higher before going from stop on normal driving, but not to the stall speed, you'd be suprised how many people 'dont want to rev up to 3500 rpms before moving' thats not how it goes. My mod order has been very unusal, Lid, cutout, cam, then headers and still no LS6 intake, although i have it and heads waiting for the new motor its not on right now, and i will finally be doing a stall on thursday, if ya want once its in i'll up date you on how it compares to driving on the stock stall etc.

You can't go wrong with a tci streetfighter(3000 stall), for the price. That's what I have.

How high does your rev w/just regular driving? I know you said not past 2500, but does it rev up that high before moving? I"m just curious because i'll have mine in soon and my car makes that dreaded machine gun noise around there because of the LT's and ORY, thanks

Go at least 3500 or do not bother. The horsepower is still there, you just don't see it. It will perform way better so do not worry.

Depends on the efficiency of the unit, which varies from each company.

ive got a fuddle 3600 1.8 stall, and city driving is getting somewhat annoying. i have to get the rpm's to about 2300-2500 to get moving from stoplights. its not bad going really slow or going above 40 miles per hour. but i hate driving on roads with hills and 30 or 35 miles per hour speed limits.

I have a fuddle 3000 stall, 2.0str, drive's fine.
It take's about 1800 rpm to move with traffic from a light, and at around 2200 to 2400 rpm I'm pullling pretty smartly.
I can idle around parking lot's with no problem,[ car will still creep ahead in drive at an idle]. Anyone, including my wife can drive my car and not really notice the stall in normal driving.
A lot of people will say to go with at least a 3500 but then you do hear of some complaint's on regular driving due to the increased slippage in a lot of stop and go traffic.
Another advantage of my 3000 was I didn't need any tunning. 1st to 2nd gear shift's at about 5900 rpm, 2nd to 3rd is at 6100. No hitting of the rev limiter.
I can't argue the fact that a 3500 stall is probably good for an additional couple of tenth's over mine, but for the typical diver a 3000 stall work's just fine.
At this point I would have to say that unless all your driving is in stop and go traffic, and up steep incline's with a 2.73 gear'd rearend in 105 degree heat, don't waste your money on a stall less then mine.

I have a fuddle 3400 and it takes a bit more to get going when driving normally. My wife asked what I did to make the car louder...I had to explain the her that it isn't louder it is just the motor reved higher.

It's kinda like starting out in a manual car in 2nd or 3rd instead of 1st during normal driving. If I get on it then it takes off like mad though (unless I am spinning the tires). I guess it is a little annoying when I'm trying to drive comfortably and not take off like "a bat out of he!!". I'm starting to learn that if you give it just a bit more gas to get going you can then let off the throttle a bit so that it doesn't sound so much like your car is straining to get up to speed.
