Default New Converter Bad

I have a TCI Super Street fighter converter installed on my 00 Z28, How do I know if it was installed wrong or if the converter is bad. I have a vibration that I traced down to the motor in neutral at 1700 rpm vibing and in gear when the converter is locked causing a similar vibe. I have no idea where to go or what to target. Either the torque converter install or converter, do I spin it 180 degrees and see if that works or what?

Were any of the motor/tranny mounts changed also?

I should look at the motor mounts, but the tranny mount isn't even a year old and poly from Energy Suspensions.

A friend of mine had to go back to the stock trans mount because of noise and vibration, just a thought

Are you getting lockup chatter? I've heard of solonoids cracking causing lockup chatter after 90k miles

Yeah there is a feeling of chatter when the tranny wants to lock. The tranny has been hunting for locking up or engagment at 35mph and 45mph but its fine at speeds of 30mph and 40mph.

With the recent code (P0751) I think I might have the tranny rebuilt and get a stock tranny mount back on.

I think that's your problem. I have the Prothane ones and it isn't too bad though, until you are over 60.

Also you don't still have stock motor mounts with that poly trans mount do you? I don't think i've seen it happen, but think about what happens when that engine torques to the side but the tranny can't because it's locked in place by those mounts...may be prone to cracking something.
