Default How long will my A4 last??

I have a 98 Z28 A4 with about 85k on the clock. I'll be installing a full list of bolt ons, Trex cam, and a 4400 stall with a tranny cooler and a shift kit.
How long will my tranny last realistically? My car is not a track car, its daily driven. It will probably get stomped about 1x a day. Is there anything else I can do to try to make it last?

yea i agree, its not gonna last you that long once you start puttin those mods on. the shift kit alone will shorten the life of the trans by it self.

i give it 2 months at most. depending on the severity of the shift kit, it could actually help the tranny last longer by reducing clutch slip (heat), etc...

the rpms are what will kill your tranny, not the stall or shift kit as much. i have a 4k stall with the transgo high stall/full race (harsh) shift kit. my tranny has 10k with that setup on it and 30+ track passes and 100+ "street" passes. the tranny shifts as good now as it did the day i bought the car.

You musta had a bad tranny to begin with, if those are your only mod's.
I have a 3000 stall fuddle, magnaflow cb and a lid and have had no problem's whatsoever with plenty of full-on run's.

yea i think the trans was on the way out anyway, the car does have 70k on it. But it only took 2 times out in the car for mine to give out. Just something to think about if your car has some hard miles on it.

Ok, thanks guys. When it does go out, what would be the best route for me to take? TH350, TH400, 4L80e, or a stronger 4L60e? I'd like to have an OD since this is a daily driven car. Cost is somewhat of an issue as well.
