Yank only sells direct now; no vendors. Give them a call.

I just installed a Yank and :Edit: they are doing everything to fix it .

150 miles on the converter , 50 roll , 2nd gear , 3500 rpm ,,
stabbin it off the bottle it flashes to 5500 and stays there untill
the car catches up then the rpms climb to 6500 .

180 miles on the converter i hit a 100 shot , 50 roll , 2nd gear ,
3500 rpms ,, the converter flashes to 6500 and stays there till the
car catches up .

I couldnt even pull away from a dodge magnum and i dont think it was
an srt8 .

I did that twice and got a tranny over temp warning ,, 253 degrees.

Those were both short pulls from 3500 in 2nd , it shifted to 3 and
went to about 110 mph .

:Edit:

did you break the converter in?? you're hitting it with nitrous after 180 miles...doesn't sound like a good idea yet.

did you install a tranny cooler??

There is something wrong with the converter or the install. It is not supposed to be acting like that. Mine sure as hell doesn't. But to say "it sucks" is unfair and can spread bad vibes about a good product. It sounds to me like you either didn't install a proper transmission cooler and/or your tranny is on its last leg.

your info say's 3600 kevlar 5 disc (we do not have one) for the 4l60-e what converter do you have?
model or part #
as this sounds like low on fluid or a bad trans pump or bad signal to the TPS
have you called us? or check any of these items

we do not sell to dealers as they have sold the wrong converter to the customer's in the past
We want all of the correct info for the build sheets as each converter is custom built

Its a SS3200 i sent in to have it rebuilt and restalled to 3800.
I asked to have it restalled and needed it to hold 900 rwtq and was insured it would be perfect for my setup by the person i talked to .

I will pm you the contact information and i would like to talk to someone about this .

If you have a noise you will get Knock retard and no power, and the clutch will not lock if the PCM picks up noise ,idle surge is not the converter but tuning as the converter is at a low viscous coupling point at idle.
get it out and check the your flexplete and send the converter in for an inspection
ASAP

Our SS3200 with an input torque of 900 Ft lbs will stall to 4800 RPM and I am not shure why you need more than that.
if you asked to up the stall to a SS3800 that will change the stall speed to
5500 RPM sounds like there was a misunderstanding about your needs.

we make the pro yank series of converters for torque numbers that high
as the SS can handle high power levels it would not be the correct choice
for you!
Please contact Dave on Monday so we can get you fixed up

Stalling to 3600-3800 would be perfect on the nitrous and thats what i wanted and was told what i would get

Ive been using Yank converters on and off since the late 70s , im just pissed because i worked so hard on getting the car to Corvette Masters by Saturday morning for the install not to mention the 250 to have the converter fixed and restalled and 400 for the install and now i have to pay them to put the 3200 vig back in the car so i can drive it , then pay them again at a later date to reinstall the yank , thats 800 bucks i dont have

When i told the person i had 500 rwhp n/a and 800 rwhp on the spray , the rep should have suggested to build a PY instead of an SS .

Now it cost me an extra 800 bucks to get the right converter in the car .

The 3200vig 5 disk holds all the power i have but it dosnt stall high enough to get me out the hole on the spray .

What converter would you suggest for a 3200lb corvette getting out the gate on about 700 rwtq on one kit then holding another 150shot/200 rwtq when i hit 2nd gear ?

I will call you guys Monday morning .

Thats exactly what it did on 476rwtq , it flashed right to 5500 and when i put about 700rwtq to it it stalled right to 6500.
