I have a completely stock 98 z28... i am getting a loan out soon, i'm getting TT2's pacesetters, and a texas speed true dual system and a lid...

I want a stall but what do i have to get to prepare for one? or can i just put one in? i plan on getting a big H/C soon but i heard i should get a stall first.

oh and should i get a 3000 stall or a 3500 stall?

You'll need a good tranny cooler along with your stall, and definitely do the stall before H/C. Don't go any smaller than a 3500 rpm stall. If the cam you plan on putting in is sizeable at all, you may want to go with a 4000 stall. Plan out your goals for the car before you start buying stuff. If you know for a fact you're going to do heads/cam, figure out which setup you want....then you can choose your stall and supporting mods accordingly and install them before the heads/cam.

okay, everbody keeps saying 4k stall, 4k stall or 3800. but then i hear go smaller if its for everyday driving. some people with big stalls have said if its a daily driver and wont see the track, go with a smaller tighter stall!! car will never ever, ever see the track. can u hook up at a 4way intersection stoplight with a 4k stall and some drag radials?

Make sure you get the TCI SSF with the billet front cover.

B&M makes a good 24k gvw cooler for ~$50. Lots of guys on here run that cooler, including myself.

I think i have seen it @ thunder for 689.00.. The normal SSF is like 529.00 but it is the one that is notorious for having lockup problems. I just experianced it myself and TCI hooked me up on an upgrade to a front billet cover.. Check out the diffrence.. first has the one piece billet cover.. second pic is the 500.00 SSF..
