Default What is your launch rpm with stall?

As the title implies, I was wondering what rpm you stalled guys bring it to just before you launch? Even with DR's can you acheive near full stall rpm? I know without a transbreak its very difficult/impossible. This question is directed to the footbreak guys. Example: with a 3800 stall do you launch at say 2500-3000?

off idle, no transbrake.

With DR's I can't get anywhere near full RPM at the line before I start pushing the car forward.

Footbraked to 3500 rpms, that was before the cam though. I'll try again when I go in September.

I did get as high as 4000 but the trans didn't like that too much.

how is it going to be useless? even though i cant stall my car up great i still cut 1.7x 60's... you having a 2.73 gear should help with traction to, you should be happy with the improvement, converter helps with shift extention and everything to

no way it will be useless! wait until you punch it from a standstill for the first time with the stall.. it will be insta-burnout with those nittos. don't worry about having a 2.73... Stalls do way more than gears especially if you have a 2.73.

I stall mine up to 2200 or so and let her rip from there. no problems with traction on MT radials but my car is pretty much stock with the mods in the sig on a speed inc Basic tune. I managed consistant 12.70-12.75's with 1.7x 60's.

PT4000 converter here. Stalling the converter up to 2800-3000 has netted us the best results with the MT Drag Radials. Any more and the tires break loose. Slicks might like a little more launch RPM but I don't have a set of those at the moment to try. My SI car has been running 7.50's to 7.60's all Summer in the 1/8th @ 89-90 MPH (7.50 best, 7.63 worst on a 90+ degree day) with 60's ranging from 1.59 to 1.63. I've got 3.90 gears in the rear now. I know that factors into what launch RPM works best so I just wanted to mention the gear as well.

Ah, I just meant that I wont be able to go anywhere near what the stall speed is. I was thinking of getting a transbrake too

I also installed a shiftkit and a tranny cooler.

Yeah, it still hits the tires damn hard because it flashes. You need to stick fairly well to tame it.

So far my best results have also been from stomping it at idle. But after it cools off, I'm going back to the track and am going to give stalling it up another go and see how it does.
