Thats something that I was always curiouse about. Sorry to chyme in on this but thats why I didn't cut into the air-box and saw-zawed my way through the rain deflectors in my WS.6 hood instead. Basically cuz I want to throw the Tranny cooler in that area.

I dunno bro,.. Our engine compartments are pretty tight fits. I really don't think that theres anywhere else to shove it.

I have FTRA and installed mine "dope style" horizontally under the right front a few years ago and been working fine. Should find posts on it with a search. Might even be able to just move it over too. Either case you'll probably need to get some new hose and cut it to fit - and make sure it's rated for transmission fluid - bring a piece of yours to the parts store so you get the right stuff.

I'm running dual coolers in front of my SLP CAI. Will post a pic later. Works fine.

I presume you have the B&M version with the electric fan.... they have two sizes and niether one of them will fit in front of the ac condenser. I have mine (smaller of the two units with fan) mounted "lengthwise" and attached to the main frame member in the space under the front passenger side headlight..... the top two holes in the unit have fairly hefty sheet metal screws direct into the frame member and the bottom two holes I used metal hardware straps (for gates) as Kickers, one on each side from lower hole of fan and up at about 45 degrees and also attaches with sheet metal screws direct to the same face if the frame member. The bottom of the fan is just above the plastic deal that you open to access your turn signal bulbs... the plumbing is easy to connect from there and it is in rock solid.... mine has worked terrific..... I live in california central valley, during summer even when it is 100 degrees plus.... my fluid temp never exceeds 110 - 130 degrees... I have to be in same hot weather going up a grade to get it near 160 degrees....Im no master mechanic and was able to install it.... it us a semi pain in the ***... but well worth it.....

holy crap dude! those temps are amazing. I really want to see some pics. I have the B&M 24k coolers right in front of the CAI duct, but my temps still can easily hit 210 if i get on it, on a hot day.

thanks man.

Yeah i'd get another one, it gave a temp drop of about 25 degrees more than with a single cooler (cuz i had a single, then added the 2nd).

**note: these temps are with the sending unit in the exiting coolant lines of the tranny. makes for more accurate readings. if you are using the pressure port then your actual temps are about 10-15 deg hotter than what is displayed**

At night on the freeway i do about 120-140 deg.
freeway on a warm/hot day 150-175

around town about 180
arount town on a hot day ~200-210

I'm not sure what the top is held with, I didn't do the install.

One thing I noticed with dual coolers, when it goes into lockup, the cooling doesn't start as quickly as a single cooler. However, when the temp does start to drop, it drops at a faster rate than with a single cooler.

I did find a crack in the pass side cooler last night....grrrr. have to replace that one (why its so dirty)

it depends on how hot it gets in your area, how hard you push the car, how much you race, how big of a stall you have, and a dozen other things.

For my car, under my conditions, it was necessary. My temps were getting dangerously high with only 1 cooler.

PS. Heartless.............Can you PLEASE post pics of your setup????

i really like this setup.. but im worry about the ground clearence... cuz it will be just a few inches between the cooler and the ground (my ride is lowered with Eibach Sport-line)
is it safe with that setup anyhow??!

i think you'd be ok with a single cooler, unless your tranny temp gets pretty high.
