Default tranny's slipping

Ive had this problem for 6 months, my car is a 98 ss that was 6speed but i converted it to a4 and was shifting fine till i put my stall in. Since that day my tranny slips when i floor it, it just over revs in every gear. I bought the converter used off this site, its a yank 3500sy. Could it be the converter's no good, or i need to retune my car? Any feedback would help, thanks

Well its very unlikley its been slipping and still goes for 6 months , most likley you just dont have the tune right for the converter you are running,The over reving is you engine hitting the rev limiter

true buying a used converter is and iffy game since converters are built to a specific application

The SY3500 is a very low STR converter, meaning two things.
One, you will have -less- "kick" than a stocker (1.6 vs stock
1.8:1 torque multiplication). Two, the converter will be "loose"
or stretch a lot in RPM with torque.

This is not a snap-your-neck, drag launch converter. Its claim
to fame is super high efficiency and a fairly broad region of
torque multiplication (albeit low to start, it continues well out
into the higher RPM). It's more of a road race style.

I think you're just not happy with the soft coupling inherent
to this design.
