Well I cant give and opinion on a competitor good or bad as thats against our company policy , But I would ask that you take a moment and look at what we have to offer before you make that purchase ,

I am going with TP. I know the rep that Fernando has with everyone here and it is great. I just have not heard much about Mad Dog at all and wanted to see all my options and costs.

I bought one for my 87 IROCZ a couple of years ago. It never shifted properly.

I would pass and go with something you could trust.

We had a guy over on ISSF use a mad Dog trans in his LT1 caprice. Prolly half of the 1/2hp your car makes now. LAsted 6 months then took a dump. Called to get warranty honored, and had a hell of a time getting in touch with them about fixing it.

Oh boy.....
Ordered a MadDog 4l65E. The "Godfather" they called it. Got a 700R4
Sent that back, got the 65E. Lasted 1 mile.
MadDog shipped me another 65e and it held for over a year then lost 2nd gear on a WOT run. That was fun.
Enough was enough. I orderd a FLT level 5 and have had no issues. Worth every penny.
Two transmission shops looked at the 2 busted "Godfather" transmissions and I was told that the parts in it were what they would throw away and replace with performance parts.
I think you're getting a stock unit with a shift kit and a couple of washers so the hard shift (which I hated) makes you think you got a performance unit.
So I vote NO on MadDog. FLT's tranny has taken my 450rwhp, 5800lb bus' abuse and laughed at it.
P.S. I'm also from Lakeland. Born and raised. I got out, lol!!
This is when I tested it out. Ignore the AFR gauge, that was another issue all together. lol! http://media.putfile.com/100-1408
