dude, the cooler is about $100, and the install is less then an hour, $40 labor, just get it done. It's safety for something that could end up costing you thousands later for a tranny rebuild.

Going WOT repeatedly in freezing weather will still heat that bitch up quick. Like 200+ degrees in a matter of minutes.

If you've allready got it. Why not install it when you do the converter? Theres no hard work envolved.

BTW- did you get those LTFT's in line?

Would it be redundant to say "PUT THE DANG THING IN, ALREADY" ?
Look at it this way:
Yes, you might be O.K. But you may also either burn it up, or do damage that will affect it later. Since it costs +1500 to repair/replace the trans, it is "illogical" not to install it now.
Best of luck with your decision, kk

Hey vann no i haven't had time to play with it lately. well guys ive got the B&M one but ive never installed one and installuniversity has no writeup so im not for sure which hoses go where LOL. The car is in the shop right now getting the tranny rebuilt with all the goodies, so i cant mess with it and i wont have it back til thurs. OH Vann give me a call whenever you think we can take my car out and mess with it a lil if you think you'll have time to. I think im going to take the car to get it dynoed when i get it back and set the TC to lock and unlock and stuff like that and get my air/ fuel right or check it anyway.

Like everyone said - Install it already, it doesn't take that long and it's real straightforward.

24000 minimum, can't really go too big (unless you can't wedge it in there!) I have a 3200 stall with a 36000 cooler, and I'd go bigger if I did it again. Trans temps are DIRECTLY related to trans life. If you can keep it below 170-175 degrees, it'll last FAR longer than just 10 degrees hotter.

you guys must have serious inadequate stock cooling. I'm using the stock coolers that came on my car (so I added an additional quart of fluid by adding some line and an external filter) and I've never seen temps above 200 degrees even with hot lapping on 100degree days

Is the car at the shop? Why can't they put it in? Should be minimal labor compared to the rebuild.

I put a cooler in long before I put in the stall.........
