Default Drive vs Overdrive

Which is better on your tranny to driving in: D or OD? I know that freeway driving will probably be OD. Please advise thanks..

This has been beat to death. I usually leave it in (D firebird, od camaro), unless i'm in crappy stop and go traffic or cruising goint anywhere from 0 to 40 constantly. I've played with both positions drag racing, no difference.

I'll just post here what I messaged to you so others can see.

I would just leave it. I hear conflicting information so much I don't know what to believe. What I do know is that you want to be doing the WOT upshifting in OD because supposedly there is a big line pressure drop going into 3rd in D. Its the whole "do I need to drop back to 3 to get it out of OD" question that is still up in the air. On my car, it kicks down much faster from OD. If I drop into 3rd, when I floor it there is a bad hesitation and it seems like it can't decide what to do. It feels like there is a small internal change or downshift, and a second later comes the big kickdown. May have something to do with turning off the overrun clutch, or TCC, or combination of the two, I don't know.

I'm leaving it in OD.
