Default 4l60e shifting problem

When at WOT the trans wont shift into 3rd unless I let off/press the gas peddle, sometimes I have to peddle it a few times for it to shift. It wont manually shift into third if I up shift either. The trans shifts fine at all others times except WOT, nice firm shifts and when I peddle it to get it to shift it hits 3rd gear hard. The car was recently tuned, stock stall, 3.73 gears, 275/40/17 tires. Please help!!

I will continue searching the forum looking for some kind of direction to go. Guess the first place I go is the tuners tomorrow AM.

Possibly a tuning fix, but I doubt it. Tranny is more than likely going south... Start saving, it could last 20k miles of normal driving or could break the next time you mash the gas....

I would have to agree with blkws6 that it is probably more of an inturnal problem like the 3-4 clutch pack. If this started right after the tune you might get lucky. Vince

It may be the 3-4 pack but I usually try and give the less expensive things to check on first and with the recent tune its defiantly worth a look first

Seems it was the tune. I only did one run on it but it shifted nicely, where it wouldn't shift without problems before.

I was considering a shift kit but the mech said either tune or kit but not both. He mentioned that tuning was about as good as a kit, is this true or no? Also willa 3800 stall rush the demise of my tranny?
