Exclamation When will my car move? (converter?)

I feel kinda embarrassed but im leary of the car with the new stall. I just put her on the ground for the first time in 6 months and she has a new tranny and 4k stall. When i try to back the car out it feels like it shimmies a little but doesnt move. I know with the stall its not going to move for quite a few rpms but i got it up to 3k and the car didnt move at all. Its open headers right now too so its kinda rediculous to sit there screaming and going no where. Could it be my tune becuase im not tuned for the stall yet? I just dont want anything to be wrong or me to brake something so i need help lol. Thanks guys.....

If you didn't move at all @ 3k rpm in gear, you've got mechanical problems somewhere. You sure it was in gear?....linkage hooked up properly? Did the converter seat all the way against the pump? Is your fluid level where it should be? Lol, did you bolt the converter to the flexplate? Not trying to be an ***, but I've seen people forget obvious stuff.

Even with a 4,000 stall unless your on a near verticle hill the car should at least start rolling out and without having to go over 2,000 rpm.

lol all the questions are fine i take no offense. Well when i put it in gear it lunges towards the direction i have it in R or a Drive gear but it goes no where after that. When it was in the air i ran it in all the gears and the tires moved in their proper directions. Fluid levels seem correct, i did torque the verter to the flexplate/ I had to switch linkage shafts but they it went in the exact same and like i said worked when it was in the air. Maybe tomorrow ill get a video of whats happening to show it better....

I wouldn't run it again until you check the converter. You may have it on wrong and have damaged the pump.

The lunge in either direction tells you the following .
1- The trans is enaging the gear the lunge happens because the engine speed is high and the drivetrain is not moving so there would be a lurch when the transmission engages,
2- That the car is capable of moving The pump is intact and working if it was broken as mentioned it would just do nothing when pulled into gear,

Personally I would check the fluild engine running in neutral , Top it off and then wait till you have the car ready to drive exhaust etc then see what you have.

My car won't go in reverse without engaging the transbrake, do you have a brake on yours?

No brake, i checked the parking brake also. How could my verter be on wrong, its definitely on all the way or the bellhousing wouldnt have bolted on right, right? i will put her in neutral and check the levels again right now. i hope eveything is good because i want me exhaust issues to be the worst of my problems not driveline issues. I really appreciate all the replys i will try all of the above and keep you guys posted.

LOL ahh you guys are gunna like this one. I wanted the car out of the garage cuz i knew id be easier to go forward than back from what performabuilt had told me. So me and my buddy start to push the car in N. Weve done this before in the staging lanes when the car was cooling so its no big thing. The car didnt budge, so for the sake of humor i flipped the line lock switch, which was in the off position, to the other side. We pushed and the car moved. lol some how the line lock engaged and was holding pretty damn well. When i called performabuilt i said it felt like the brakes were dragging and they were i guess. But all is well and thanks for all your input guys!

I did that once after a clutch install back when I had the M6 in my car.

Anyway, glad to hear that you got that figured out.
