Default FLT lvl 3 or Performabuilt lvl 2?

I'm sorry if this is a repost, but i've narrowed my choices down to 2, and i'd like everyones input.

I want to put a built tranny in my trans am, the Performabuilt lvl2 is nice, but i have heard of just a few issues with them, but there customer service is suposed to be very nice in fixing these problems and i'm still very interested in using one of there Trannys, and on the other side is FLT, which have always seemed bullet proof. My local tuner who i trust swears by FLT. Whats the better tranny?

Performabuilt lvl 2 Has an whole disertation on there transmission buildup, claming that its good for 700 at the wheels. There is no core charge and shipping is free. The Performabuilt seems to offer more aftermarket peaces in there transmission. $1,650

i can't comment on the longevity of both the transmissions, but they both seem like good companies run by stand-up guys. FWIW, i think the FLT lvl 4 would be a better comparison to the performabuilt lvl 2 in terms of horsepower ratings and durability. just my $0.02.

I dont see any reason why the specs posting would be any issue we are both sponsors and the information is all on the public domain of the internet .
I of course vote for us lol
But honestly dont expect to win this question because FLT well they have been here alot longer and have sold many more forum members transmissions than we have so obviously if everyone who bought one of theres post and every one of ours posted then of course they will get more post , Been around longer lol , But still will be interesting to watch the post and veiw comments something to learn from as feedback of all kinds is what we use to make our service better,

Can't go wrong with either.

I was faced with the same decision. I feel good with my choice and the $ spent was right for me.

every company has their problems and everyone makes a bad transmission here or there. i would look through the threads and take down names of people that have both, then PM them questions regarding their setup and how their trans has performed, along with how old their trans is and how many miles it has endured. a lot of people won't post up a bad experience on the forums because they don't want to give the sponsors bad press. also, a lot of success stories NEVER post because they don't feel the need. a lot of people only think they should complain, never praise.

I finally got my Peformabuilt LVL 3 installed hanging behind a new Yank PY3400 and a 346 ProCharged D1SC with right at 500 rwhp.

I still have some wot tuning issues but the Performabuilt LVL 3 combo shifts nice and hard or soft depending on how you drive it.

I also like the PY3400 better than the Vig3200 I replaced it with. The PY3400 feels much tighter in city driving than the Vig. Vig felt way too loose.

Time will tell if the LVL 3 will hold up after I get a better tune so I can 1/4 mile it but so far I am very happy with the tranny.

Although my LVL 3 was as pricey as the competition, I bought it from Peformabuilt because I didn't want to deal with core charges and return shipping and I got to keep my existing tranny - but doubtful I will every use it again.
