Default Most power put down thru a 4l60e

I know most people think the 4l60e is only good for 500 or less but I want to hear from the 600+ guys if there are any

Mine has lasted 150 or so passes on the old setup below, not a hiccup, still running good. (knock on wood)

Now though I am only a few weeks away from getting the new setup on the road and I doubt she will last too much longer.
I've built the motor and will be running a front mount 76mm

I want to be around 700rw right away, just wanting to see if there are any others out there that made it past 600 on a stock tranny

lol 475rwhp/450rwtq on a STOCK 4L60E? damn, that's impressive, i don't care what anyone says. this further backs my theory: keep the RPM's down, keep the 4L60E alive.

That makes me feel better. I'm running low 11's at 123-124mph w/ a raceweight of around 3800#. No probs. so far. The low rpm suggestion has merit, I could pick up some time, but have the pcm tuned to shift at 6000, the tranny is happy that way.

Made 620+hp and 670+ ftlbs with the 408 and TNT. The 3rd pass on the track my Rossler lost 3 gear. I think it lasted a month or so after the 408 build. I did have that trans on a H/C/TNT car for over a year with no problems though.

yeah and I even sprayed it for about 30 passes mostly 50-75 shots

and I was reving to 6900 , most of the guys on the GTO board say my tranny was built by god... I have been pretty damn lucky. I doubt I can go much further though, although I sure will try.
So judging by the response there are not too many stock auto's going big...

no. and that goes with ANY stock auto made by ANY manufacturer. they just weren't built for it. the fact that it's still trucking shows the 4L60E isn't junk by far.

The 4l60e is only as good as the builder.

Yepper...
I know "Twofast4lv" Ellis is putting 602rwhp down all last year. "WAHUSKER" is making 620+ for two seasons and "Ryan K" (Fueling and injection MOD) has been running his at 650+ rwhp last year. Ryan is having his whole set up redone with bigger turbo and piping and expects 800RWHP this time around....We're wondering if the tranny will hold that and for how long? "CHarris" probably has the most load on take off with his 402 powered Hummer (AFR heads, headers and Kenny Bell running at 9 PSI, soon to be 12PSI) and so far no problems launching at 3500rpms with that 6800Lbs race weight...

Oops. Just realized you said stock tranny....Good luck with that...keep us posted...

my 4L60 has been good to me. I'm making 400 rwhp on motor, plus a 150 tnt shot. Car has gone 11.0 @ 126 on a soft 60' w/ a 3800 lb race weight shifting @ 6800. Trans is bone stock except for the converter.
That being said I have a 4L80 being built right to prepare for the future (FI).
