Manually shift or leave in drive?

Manually shift or leave in drive?
I seen several posts that say that you should not manually shift and you should leave it in drive. I'm thinking to be consistant that it would be a good idea, but not for the quickest e/t.
If this is the best way then, I have not tuned my car as of yet and my mods are in my sig. The only thing I have is a hpp3 that I picked up to fix my speedo. I know it has a setting to switch shift points on there, anyone have similar mods that have changed the shift points with good results that would like to share some information? I'm too broke to get a tune right now.

Do a search for this, a couple lengthy threads are out there discussing this very topic, no need for another one...
Just to cut to the chase though, leave the car in OD. The only time you need 1st gear is to do a controlled burnout without the car upshifting on you, and you don't need to shift into any of the other gears yourself. It is more beneficial to tune the PCM to shift with near perfection, something you will never do.

first off don't mess with the linepressures, the stock settings are plenty good for longevity of your stock internals. the factory settings at wot are around 170-180 psi. anything over 210-220 psi is going to start stressing interanls.
secondly with my 00 t/a's stock driveline with just the bolt ons. i found the factory shift points were spot on for best 1/4 times. also use 3rd as there's a little boost in extra fluid pressure volume to your clutches for better holding power. i dought it with your posted set up, but if your running out of gear at the line with your 4.10's only than manually shift od.
happy 10in. pinion snapping!!!
