Default Yank Converter wont lock even when commanded to

yep my pt4000 that never locked b/c I had misfire issues I thought was causing it to not lock at all well we cleared that up and my tuner last night commanded lockup and the converter pretty much said **** you I know the converter clutch didnt come apart b/c it never locked in my stock tranny and there was NOTHING in the bottom of the pan at all! Driving it unlocked isnt to bad I have a *** ton of coolers to keep the tranny cool. I sent yank a PM well see what they say I'm sure this is going to cause my car to be down 2-3 weeks I dont know if its even worth it...I may just keep driving it unlocked 90 degree weather with 2 giant coolers i dont go over 185ish on the highway and in the city its about 150 cuz its not slipping as much. Ive read a few other threads on here about guys saying their lockup converters arent locking and they bought them about the same time I bought mine....so heads up.......Waiting to see what yank says

Give me a yell and ill give you some simple test to perform to help you makea determination on which way to go there ok. Comanding lockup with the tuner will not overide the PCM if it has lockup disabled for some other reason , Strangly commanding lockup with the tuner should really be called suggesting lockup lol

The reason TCC would be inhibited by a perceived Misfire would be that the converter clutch or converter sprag could be damaged by a severe misfire. Therefore, it is inhibited regardless of a Manual Command or not.

Your experience is one example of why we have combined resources with Xtreme Horsepower to release our Transmission Only Tune to LS1Tech members, and not just guys who come to us with Tune related Driveability issues. Many Tuners have focused on engine tuning and have not experienced all of the challenges that we did during our year long 4L60E development program that was implemented utilizing the Test Mule next door at Xtreme. It took a big combined effort to get to the point where we could understand all of the issues related to High Performance tuning for 4L60E's. Not a shamelss plug, just a fact. We see many cars here that have significant symptoms related to upgraded components and Tuning and know through experience that we have a solution to this problem that is offered at a win / win price!

Good Luck!

I hope Yank takes care of you. I'm on my second and loving it, but it seems like there have been an awful lot of Yank converter issues here lately. It'll be interesting to see what they do about it.
