Default Yank SS 4000

Tell me if this is the wrong converter for me. My car is stock right now. I'm doing the LT's and ORY at the same time. My car still has the 2.73's.

In the future, I will do a cat-back, lid, and 3.73 gear, and in the real near future, a drag radial. No spray, this car is staying on motor.

Thats all I have planned right now. This car is not my daily driver. I don't care about gas prices either, I just want this thing to rip some **** up.

Do you guys think the Yank SS 4000 is too big? Or should I go with a different converter? Where can I get one for the best price?

Thanks,

Chris

There is no such thing as to big
But for real tho a friend of mine has a H/C/I car with a SS4000 and it drives really good, I think even stock power dosnt really come on till 4000+ so this would be fine IMO

It's pretty agressive for 2.73's, but if it's not your daily driver, and you just want to tear it up, go for it. It will really be nice once you get the 3.73's.

For maximum N/A performance I think Yank will recommend the PT series. Call them up, they are very helpfull.

I'd look into the PT or PY series... I run the SS series because its considered to be a little tighter (like a nitrous converter should be ) an all motor car should have something a little looser IMO....

4000 stall converter is perfectly fine for a stock car. It will feel loose with the 2.73s. Once you step up to a 3.73 you'll be wanting a 4400 stall. IMO, get the 4000. Great for n/a and you can spray the crap out of it later if you decide to go that route.

Do you know what your converter flashes to on spray and motor? I think mine was flashing to almost 5200 and like 6200 on spray. I think the converter is pretty loose. If this was my only car I would of probably went with a 3600.

Thanks everybody, I ordered the SS4000 last night. I talked to Dave and that is what he recommended. Evidently they are moving into a new building so I won't get it for a few weeks, but I will let you all know how it turns out.

PY is the nitrous/FI version. It's supposed to be tighter than the SS.
