Default 4l60e Shift Pattern Help....

Alright, well first of all I have a '95 Camaro Z28 A4. My shift pattern is 2nd, 3rd, and then drive. I have seen plenty of other Z28s , Formulas and Trans Am's with the shift pattern where 1st and 2nd aren't together. I was wondering if there was a way I could have my 1st and 2nd gear seperate instead of together. It would be way more helpful on the high when the local ricers try and pass me. I can never stay in 1st when I want! Any kind of help would be good, thanks.

Your car must have come with 2.73 gears. You probably have a 115mph speedo also. Your shifter is fine, they just put a plastic piece in to keep you from manually selecting 1st gear. This can be taken out and first gear will be there.

Yeah stock it had 2.73's but it now has 3.73's. It actually had a 150mph speedometer. So that little plastic piece can be removed? How hard would it be and is there any thread or something about it to where I can look at some pictures unless it isn't that hard I'll just go straight ahead and try it.
