Default troubleshoot this problem for me please!

I don't know what is up w/ my car, it was fine then suddenly this problem showed up. The car seems to slip bad around town in a stop and go traffic. On the highway, it didn't want to lock up or kick it into overdrive. I got it locked to 45 MPH and it didn't even do that. The Z28 is fine other than this problem. I'm not getting SES light or anything. Is it the shift solenoid?

I have a stock tranny w/ Yank ST 3500 btw.

Is it changing gears or starting in one gear and staying there?

Its staying on one gear I believe around town and on the highway it feels like its locked on WOT. Its not kicking down to overdrive. Make sense?

On top of that its slipping, not like aftermarket stall slipping, its slipping worse. I got the Yank stall tune for shift points, and the lock up @ 45 MPH.

I just recently replaced the fluid on the tranny and the filter a month ago.

In addition, when I was driving it on the highway, I shifted it manually on D to see if it will change the gear and it did. And when I was at home I put it on reverse and it shifted on reverse w/ slippage.

Sounds like it may be in limp mode in which case it will start in third gear which will feel like its slipping badly. you need to have it put on a scanner and look at the data stram and see whats happening .

BTW, what would be the causes to put the tranny in a limp mode?

Several things. Its most likely going to have a dtc in it. Get it checked before you damage it any further.

Welp, No DTC showed up. The car drove fine the next day. Could have been a fluke?

^^^ Yeah, exactly what happened but I tried to duplicate the problem w/o causing another problem. No avail! No slippage and no DTC showing up.
