Default installed prothane tranny mount today ned opinions and help on something...

ok today i installed a prothane tranny mount on my 99maro. i do plan on installing the motors mounts, sometime when i get a chance. After installing i noticed alot more vibration noise and it seems like the car feels different when you start it up, might just be me? Anyhow when i installed the mount it seemed like the crossmember was kinda hard to get lined up to the center bolt on the prothane mount? anybody have this problem, i mean i got it all together and tight but i was just wondering if anybody else had this problem with theres and if there's anything else i need to know. if i did something wrong i need to know so i can fix y'know ...anybody please feel free chime in and help me out!!!...

The poly mounts are well known for this , since they are not as soft as the stock mount they transfer alot more vibration

I installed a poly tranny mount om my 99 T/A today, during hard accelerations my tranny vibrates BAD but when im not on it its fine, i dont get it, it never did it before with the stock one. Im putting it back on lift because i didnt torque the bolts to specs, a buddy told me that they have to be torqued because if there too tight there will be vibration, the torque specs are center bolt 77ft-lbs and mounting bar bolts 44 ft-lbs. I threw the whole old mount away im not sure if i had to use that mounting plate off the old mount or not. this im the mount i have http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...57681_-1_10729

Its normal... I have a Prothane Trans mount it caused a lot of vibration. It will break in eventually and the vibration will calm down more but it takes a few thousand miles of driving. I have poly motor mounts as well.

Just be lucky you didn't buy an Energy suspension trans mount. My ES mount twisted itself around and broke plus the ES trans mount is about 1/2" taller than the stock one and will throw off your pinion angle if you are still running a trans mounts torque arm.

I swapped back in a stocker because I got tired of the vibration. Amazing how smooth the car is now.

I used a 1LE trans mount in my six speed car when I installed spohn solid motor mounts, but I am not sure if there is an equivilant for the A4.

It felt solid and made no interior vibrations. I first installed the prothane mount, and I was told to give it a "couple thousand miles" to break in, screw that. lol

I am installing spohn solids when I change out the headers on my A4 Hawk, and was planning on using a 1LE mount as well. Hopefully it will work for the A4.

Sorry for the novel.

Last year I installed a poly trans mount after a tranny rebuild and there was a considerable amount vibration on hard acceleration. It did become less noticeable after the first 1500 miles and now I have very little vibration when I give it the gas. Just be patient and give it some time to break it self in.

+1 on grinding down the two nubs (flatten them) and not using the plate.

after a while, the vibration decreases... but its still going to be a pain in the ***.
i ended up getting a rubber mount after i couldn't take it anymore. felt like the car was going to shake apart when i went past 75mph.

the mount most are talking about is the the energy suspension mount, im talking about the prothane brand mount ( there is a difference) and still im wondering about the deal with shimming the crossmember ( year-one's note under the part in their catalogue)??? it is however higher than the stock style, so im going to look into this more i put my stock back in for now till i find something out on it to be safe.....

I always thought it was a good idea to swap your other mounts out along with you tranny so they'd all be poly... ??? maybe not

I have an ES mount in my car and it feels fine to me.

We put a prothane mount in my friends M6 and he loves it. It doesn't vibrate badly either.

they actually redid the stock mount and i am 99% sure the only mount you can get is the LE, they just call it the stock one.
