How long will my stock A4 last with H/C?
I want to take a poll to see how long my stock A4 transmission will last in my 2002 A4 H/C stalled Z28 with 37,000 miles? I went with the trickflow 215c 61cc chamber heads and a 232/236-642/612-114lsa cam. Allan @ Futral Motorsports is building the car as we speak. He said the car should be putting down between 420-450rwhp after the install. How much power can a stock 4L60E handle? Thanks guys for all your help. The car is not my D/D. It's just my play car. I do want to take it to the track but most of my races will be street races (in Mexico)!!

Well... the stock 60E was engineered to handle 385 lbtq.
But, that being said, lots of guys get many milesout of theirs before needing to upgrade their unit.
Without knowing how hard it will hit it is hard to say how long it will last.
What converter, tires and gear are you running?

Well, the converter will let it get to a higher rpm more quickly that the stock unit would. These units are known for their inability to take high RPM's and higher than stock H/P in stock trim.
My recommendation to everybody I talk to on the phone is this... if you plan on going fast you need to plan on having failures in the powertrain. That's the nature of the beast. The key is to plan... do you homework and put a plan into place now for the eventual day that the tranny shows it's weaknesses. That way you are not left wondering what to do and possibly resort to making a snap decision.
Enjoy it, run the snot out of it and when the time comes... build it better and stronger... then do it all over again!
