Vigilante TC advice
There is negative feedback on just about every TC out there but one , the Vig ,is it that they are just that damn awesome or am I just not hearing it. Price really isnt important if it comes with the peace of mine of having the best TC on the market.

We have had much better success with Vigilante converters and high horse powered cars when using 4L60E and 4L80E transmissions, than with any other brand of torque converter.
The Vigilante is our brand of choice, as we have driven through too many other brands on our dyno. Bob

both are great converters - some people have better results with the Vig, others have better results with the Yank.
regardless you'll have great performance and reliability with either of the two. we have the best prices on Vig converters, and offer free shipping on top of that. so if you want to go with a vigilante TC then check our site.

I have had both. I was running a Yank 3200 and wanted more stall. So I bought a Vig 3600. The Vig is a rocket but they are very loose. The Yanks seems to be more drivable than the Vig. After 10 days of a Vig, I put it up for sale and ordered another Yank.
Just depends what you want.
You wont find the dealers pushing Yank anymore because they only sell direct now.

I have been a distributor for Precision Industries for 11 years, and I can count on one hand how many problems I have had with the Vigilante. I wish 4L60E's could be made that bullet proof.

I bought my Vig 3200 used from a buddy who's running a 393CI LS2, he was putting over 430rwhp down (very mild cam) through this converter unlocked on a 12bolt, and he "upgraded" to a larger PT4000 Yank.
He's gone through several transmissions, I had the Vig sent out and cut open/cleaned, and I have had as many problems with it as he did. None.

Vigilante torque converters are at the top of the market. the guys who want the most performance, and reliability usually go with either a Vigliante, or a Yank.

I'm a huge fan of the smaller Vig convertors. I ran a somewhat odd combo several years ago in a '98 Formula, I ran a T1 cam with stock manifolds and bolt-ons and a Vig 2800. That little Vig 2800 cut two 1.64 short times and a 1.65 for me on 26 x 11.5 x 16" ET streets. That was with stock 3.23s @ 3430 lb race weight. I did eventually upgrade to the Yank 4200 pt which hit hard from a stop and from a roll but was much looser. I also struggled to get the car to hook on a stocking suspension. For all out performance, I'd opt for a larger Yank. If its a true street car thats going to see a lot of street mileages and drivability/reliability is a must, I think a Vig 2800 is a great choice.
