Install the Vig 3200, or go bigger?
I have a brand new in box Vigilante 3200 sitting in my trunk. I have a full bolt on 3.23 geared Z28 (18" wheels) with future plans to buy a 230/230 111 lsa cam making it a cam only car. I haven't installed it becuase I keep trippin that i'll wish that I should have gone bigger. The whole under rated Precision Industry stall thing is killin me!! Please give me somone facts on how the Vig 3200, 3400, and 3600 stall at. (only if you have them, not what you have heard) Thanks

My buddy went from a Vig 3200 to a Yank PT4000 and gained nothing in the 1/4.
His setup was 393 LS2 Stroker, Fast 90/90, ported LS6 heads, a baby cam for his motor (228/232 588/592). My car went from 13.3 to 12.69 with a vig 3200 + nittos.
I now have a TR224 and think the Vig 3200 is still perfect for my setup.
I have no plan to change converters, if anything I'd prefer an M6 swap since I never go to the track anymore.

I have the vig 3200 in my car, and it is a great stall for a dd. I have 3:23 gears full bolt ons and heads/cam and my car is running 11.59 with a 1.60 60ft(full weight pretty much), so the stall performs pretty good too. I am going to get my stall re flashed to a 3600 since i have a car that i daily drive now, and want it to perform better at the track. But if you drive your car all the time, i think you will like the 3200.

I had a vig 3600 after a fuddle 3600 and the vig felt super tight. drove almost like stock. excellent for a daily driver but I had it loosened for the track. Have not got a chance to test since the restall. If you are going to race a lot get it restalled bigger. It is perfect for a mostly street car.

Went from stock w/ bolt ons only and 2.73 rear end to a 4400 stall and kept everything else the same, wouldn't have it any other way. It was my daily driver and was a damn sling shot off the line, from a roll, whenever. I have a 3500 now but if I went bigger any gain would be lost as spin and smoke.

That 3200 will flash to 3500 or so. It will work fine with your set-up. Going to a Yank PT 4000 would pick you up a tenth and 1-2 MPH but at a noticeable decrease in drivability. The Vig 2800/3200/3600 convertors are the perfect choice for someone who drives their car a lot and races it at the track occasionally. The larger yanks are perfect for someone who races their car a lot and drives it occassionally.
I had a cammed '98 Formy some years back. I went ~ 70k miles on the trans w/ Vig 2800. I then went to a Yank 4k+ and had two rebuilds within a couple thousand miles. Maybe it was just bad luck, I'm not sure. With this car I had been set on getting a larger Yank, now I've decided to get a smaller Vig. I'll take the loss in performance for better drivability and the hopefully more reliability.
