Default locking the trans for cam swap

how exactly am i suppose to lock the flywheel in place in my car while i tq the balancer bolt? i use to have a flywheel tool that held it for you while you did this sort of thing but i have sold it since i no longer turn wrenches for a living. i don't have time to order another tool before the weekend.

I just used a really good impact wrench. I coated the bolt with loc-tite and hammered it on for a good 30 seconds. Worked great and I've never had any problems with it.

no i'm goin to go through the tq to yield sequence when i do it so i need to keep the motor from rotating. there is a few things i spend the time torqueing and the balancer is one of them.

No problem, just throwing out an idea. I was very comfortable with it and doubt I could have got it any tighter any other way. Trick was a good impact wrench. Good luck!

There is an actual flywheel tool that will help hold that thing in place. You will need someone else to hold it while you torque it. It's kind of a pain. m6's are so much better when it comes to that kind of stuff.

Do a search for Kent Moore J42386 tool, that is what I use.
