Got my Performabuilt trans today!! one question though
just got home from work and saw a big box by the garage door! so i opened it up. but it doesnt look like a 4L60E. i thought the bellhousing was supposed to be able to come off. it looks like its just one piece. is this a 4L60E for '97 LT1??

ok well i got the old trans out and the new one bolted up!
just one question frank,
i was following the directions about the spacing of the converter to the engine. i just want to make sure i did it right. i seated the converter in the trans and got a measurement of 1in spacing from the bellhousing to the converter. I then measured from the engine block to the back side of the flywheel and got 7/8in. so that leaves me with .13in. is that the correct spacing? within specs? it looks like i wont need spacers(i tried explaining it best as i could)

I think thats about right bot more important though we have not seen this with one of our converters there should be with the converter fully pushed back into the trans approx 1/8 inch space between the converter bolt face and the flex plate, bolt surface

wow, i just took it for a drive. Awesome! its soo weird driving a stall. its a whole different feeling. you have to press the gas a little bit more to get a going. i did a half throttle launch and i can already feel it pulls a lot better. im happy! i cant wait to go WOT
the only problem right now is i have a pretty good leak coming from the front of the pan. i dont know if the fluid is getting past the pan gasket or what. the whole pan is already covered in fluid
