in my Lumina SS (Like GTO and Commodore) th350 or th400 ??
Hi,
my car Lumina 2002 SS
I want to change my 4l60e to th350 or th400 ...
what is the best choice?
I driver my car daily go to my collage ...
this is the parts on my car :

I Will put 150 HP Nitrous I will be in 550 rear HP
Please help me what better for my car ? 350 or 400 ? and why
Note: i will use TCI Low Gear Planetary Sets First Gear Ratio: 2.75 Second Gear Ratio: 1.57

like i told you ss, going with a 400 buys you peace of mind . sure its a bit heavier and takes a bit more hp to turn, but with the 1st and 2nd gears changed to that ratio along with the torque converter the car will definatly move. you will have the gearing of a 350 and the toughness of a 400.

Well i've seen a full weight GTO w/ cage go 10.16 running an FLT level 5 4L65E
I would say have FLT build you a level 4 or 5 until you get in the 9s

I rebuild my 4l60e 6 times !! i need a trans dont need rebuild every 6 months
and dont forget i will put 150 nos = 550hp

we have a FLT LVL 4 in a 408ci GTO that ran 10.3 on spray, hasn't backed down one bit. The car I mentioned last post has near 20 passes on its setup.
And has been driven extensively.
Circle D converters work well too

I would say sell that fat car and get a camaro or a 6ranz am, same engine and a th400 with low gear set. if you want the same car get a th400 or a 4l80 which will cost you some $$.

what did you end up doing? cause I have a 240sx with an 4l60e which I want to throw in the trash... and I need to swap for a th400, how much do they cost in jeddah hani? and how hard is the swap?
