I honestly don't get the point of this test, other then being fun to do. Isn't a muscle car NOT supposed to have wheel-spin for 200+ feet? I mean, the saying goes if your spinning your not winning isn't it? 
Anyone can put rock-hard tires on just about any car and spin for days, which the driver already mentioned the Camaro had.
Was a cool vid to watch none-the-less, thanks for sharing.

One review the tires are rock hard and the others they are excellent. These people dont know what the hell they are talking about half the time.
The pirelli tires that come on the Camaro SS are a premium summer performance tire that is far from rock hard compared to most street tires on the market. Not to mention that the mustang has the same pirelli tires on it as well in the 255 size. (if you get the performance 19' tire/wheel upgrade which I think this mustang had)
So...either way it was a stupid comment...#1 the mustang has the same tires. #2 The tires are not "rock hard" when it comes to street tires in the first place.

I agree that the test was/is a bit juvenile but umm, apparently some of you guys didn't live through the vehicular period of the late '70s/early '80s.
Those were some very very dark times LOL so trust me, this is a good thing.

It was dark times the last 8 years with no new 2 door V8 RWD panty dropper, mullet blowin in the wind, sex machine on 4 wheels that is the Camaro/Firebird

Stupid comment? I was just going off what the "professionals" opinion of the tire compound was, I've never had any personal experience with the Pirelli PZero 275/40R20 tire that comes stock on the Camaro and didn't say I did. I still stand by that to say one car is a "better" because it can spin the tires the furthest is skewed. The Mustang beats the other two in weight and 1/4 times so it didn't lose because it was down on power, its that it actually put that power to the ground... I'm not a Mustang nut-swinger either, as my next car will be GM.

One popular reason that the camaro had the best burnout, besides its limited ability to hook up in comparison to an SRA, is the torque curve of a pushrod motor like the ls3 and how/when it makes its power. The torque curve is flatter and comes on stronger/sooner in the ls3...thus making for easy burnouts. The car was easily short shifted during the burnout and made plenty of power after the short shift while still relatively low in the rpm range....enough to keep the tires spinning.
But yeah...doesnt really mean anything. But it is cool to know that the car can burn some rubber if you want it to. I have yet to do 1 burn-out with my car since I have owned it. I look at them as mostly a waste of money.

Now that was great. It would be interesting to see the SRT8 Chally and the GT500. From what Ive seen so far the Challys just incinerate the tires. Dont know what it is but they do. Any would be welcome in my garage.

The driver short shifted the Camaro but not the Mustang or the Challenger.
Either way put a line lock on your car if you want a good burnout, and the test was retarded.
I guess it might appeal to some rednecks.

i think it's funny everybody wanted the SRT8 to compete. Why? it's way overpriced compared to the others. They wanted cars in similar price range. Makes sense. Spend the $10k extra and get the SRT8 if you want it to do better burnouts lol a dumb test but fun to watch
