Not enough money in the world to make me try that. I like living way too much.

Strap me in and just tell me how to keep the pointy end forward. Also how to deploy the 200 parachutes that it's going to need to slow it down. If I die, well, what better way to go out than in a 1,000mph car?

True, but what if you crash and die at 200mph, then what?

The 800HP V12 is the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) for the jet/turbine, a little more complicated than a fuel pump as it is also being used for..

But cool none the less!

Holy F. There is no where on the planet that this thing could get to 1,000mph. Think of the distance it would cover in 42 seconds.

at 1000mph you are moving 1466.67 ft/sec. So over a 1/4 mile a sec.

I wouldn't mind having a go at it.

Someone tell me if I got this right-

1000 mph is ~447 mps
Avg velocity is ~223 mps
So total distance would be ~5.8 miles by the time he hits 1000mph? Or would I be wrong with my avg velocity? Think they usually prep like 10 miles of the salt flats so that seems like a short distance for what he's doing.
