Spied - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 392 HEMI
And this time the exhaust is setup to allow towing.
One of their benchmarks was with them.
It should be unveiled at the New York auto show this year. It's expected to have all the changes and upgrades the new Charger SRT8 has.

They'd draw less attention by just leaving the silly looking bra off the thing and simply leaving badges off as well. It looks good, but most people would instantly mistake it for a modified new GC and move along.

I looked on Jeep .com and the 4X2 Grand Cherokee starts a bit over 30k... That's kinda pricey for a small "mid-size" SUV that doesn't offer a V8, which can be had in all higher trim levels, for about 2k over the additional roughly 4k cost. The 3.6L engine isn't bad really, at 290/260, but still... Pricey. On a brighter note, the Laredo 4X4 starts at just over 32k, which suggests the 4X4 system isn't the money puller it used to be. Like most if not all anymore, it's also only available with an automatic in any version. Like several before it, this one is rather heavy, tipping in at 4660 in base trim.
The Overland package starts at 45,995.00(4X4), but only 42,495(4X2), which makes me wonder one other thing... Why is the 4X4 3.5k in that package, but only 2k in standard trim? Oddly, 4X4 adds 2.5k in Limited trim. I guess the more you're willing to pay for the model, the more the 4X4 system is worth. Anyway... The SRT is going to be way up there, no doubt. I'm thinking 48k or more to start.
It'll be a BLAST to drive, but price will ensure low volume, like all decent or good Chrysler products.

I do like that they left the GC a RWD... and the base engine is pretty good for power and not bad on torque either. If in the market, I'd be unhappy about the added price for the V8, but otherwise... it's not so bad. The version I'd want(excluding the SRT) is overpriced by about 13k... That's me.
