Default 2014 Camaro revealed live this morning

Apparently we dont have to wait til tomorrow......

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=285117

I walked into the living room this morning to hear they are showing some new cars from the New York auto show on Live with Kelly and Micheal. Well they showed the new 2014 camaro. The tail lights are one piece as compared to two, similar to the Trans-am look a likes. All camaros will now have a heat extractor on the hood, larger opening below the grill. The interior doesn't look like there is much of a change from 2013. It was hard to see, only about 5 seconds per change, but the changes are noticeable.
The 2014 Camaro lineup includes:
The 323-horsepower (241 kW) V-6-powered LS coupe and LT coupe and convertible – including the 2LS with an EPA-rated 30 mpg on the highway,
The Camaro SS coupe and convertible, with a 6.2L V-8 delivering up to 426 horsepower (318 kW), The 580-horsepower (432 kW) supercharged Camaro ZL1 coupe and convertible.

"The iconic Chevrolet Camaro has been the America's favorite sports car for three consecutive years, due to its combination of performance and design. For 2014, the Camaro gets its most significant redesign since the fifth-generation Camaro was introduced as a concept car in 2006. Compared to the previous model, the design represents a strong visual change front and rear, resulting in a wider, lower, more contemporary appearance. The front fascia features a wider lower opening, and a narrower upper opening that also updates the appearance of the iconic “halo ring” HID headlamps on the Camaro RS package. Also new is a functional hood vent on the Camaro SS helps reduce heat and aerodynamic lift. Moving to the rear, changes for Camaro include a new decklid, thinner, horizontal LED taillamps and a more aggressive rear diffuser. The 2014 Camaro lineup includes: The 323-horsepower (241 kW) V-6-powered LS coupe and LT coupe and convertible – including the 2LS with an EPA-rated 30 mpg on the highway, The Camaro SS coupe and convertible, with a 6.2L V-8 delivering up to 426 horsepower (318 kW), The 580-horsepower (432 kW) supercharged Camaro ZL1 coupe and convertible. Do NOT like. Hoping the 6th gen isn't full of fake scoops and vents, and isn't a tank.

The upper grill is more narrow(height i mean) and i don't mind the tails. Don't like the hood much and would like to see the interior if they did anything

The exterior didn't need any changes at all. They could have updated the powertrains, suspension and interior and been fine.

That hood vent looks like a tacky aftermarket stick-on.

The taillights look terrible.

The narrower grille looks nice - gives it a sleeker look.

Agreed. Main thing really holding me back is the interior. I hate the gauges, dash and infotainment center stack. Ain't paying $40K+ to stare at those ugly-*** gauges everyday on my way to work!!! It's a big car, too, but so is a Challenger and even the Mustang ain't tiny. So, I could deal with it's "heft". But, the interior sucks. Powertrain and suspension are fine. 1LE stuff and some cams/intake/ported heads/headers would make it a fine ride. But not with that interior.

But, of course, 2014 is just a carry-over year anyways. 2015 is the new Camaro based on the ATS platform.

I agree with everyone else - this is not an improvement.

I was bored of this car after about 5 seconds of looking at it. The 5th gen looks so dated anymore, and this facelift isn't enough to help that. We have been looking at this same basic design since 2006.

i was just starting to warm up to the Camaro, but this is ugly. Why not just drop the rumored 7.0, improve the trans gearing, better light wheels and call it a day.

I believe that's at least 2016 for the chassis re-vamp.

The tail lights are atrocious. Why do they want Malibu tail lights on everything nowadays

The sixth generation will not be released until the 2016 model year.

I expected the update to really add some appeal to the car. Much like the newly revised Mustangs. Boy was I wrong!

This revamp made it lose its unique silhouette. Now it just looks like it has the mustangs general shape. And those tail lights.....lets just hope its the angle that makes them look that bad. I feel like they should have left well enough alone.
