Oh wow, the base Shelby is quite a bargain. Hell at 41k it's not much more than the new SS

Yep 47k, my bad. Still compared to the Z28 it's a bargain.

I know someone in line for just the GT350, and he is being told that the dealership MUST charge him an additional $20,000 markup... Sooooo, then there is that, just like every other Shelby car offered during the first year of sales.

No idea what he's doing, he is kind of a **** and I would make fun of him for the rest of his life if he pays that much for it. He ordered his at $57,000 and is more okay with paying the additional $20,000 without tax, tags or delivery charges than he is buying a better car for less money, spending $50 per more month on insurance and having a $200 less car payment...

He would be walking out of the dealership spending just under $85,000 for just a Shelby GT350...

The C7 with the Z51 package has come up in the discussion that he should entertain that as an option, after he was the one who brought it up... However he "does not want to pay the extra insurance," and it is "too harsh" to daily drive, but thinks the GT350 will be better...

I also laughed immensely at how low the torque is on this new voodoo engine, my car made just 16-lb/ft less with just bolt on's...

The torque is low, but what's interesting is that it peaks at like 4900 and carries hard to like 6500. It may be a dig down low but in a race it's perfect

Has he actually checked the insurance on them? I'd be willing to be the C7 is cheaper than the GT350. Ride quality I can't say, but I'd be willing to bet the C7 is comparable and likely softer ride than the track focused Mustang.

Nope lol He's a chode who thinks his **** don't stink and that buying a Mustang will hold him higher in the eyes of the social populace.

Basically brings up these other options in the same price range and then yells at people for being "fanboys" and "drinking the koolaid," by stating that the other options make more sense, both logically and financially.

Basically, he's a ********.

If the dealer says a 20k extra charge is a must it makes me wonder if the msrp just wasn't some bullshit low ball thing from furd.

Btw....the gt350 does not come with the coolers needed for track duty. They are optional and put the price over 50k.

Does your car fell weak in the torque department?

You trade some low end for hp on the big end. That is just how it goes. The gt350 also has a lot moe meat up top compared to the ls7.

Conversely, the z28 is a better buy right now, because you can find them all day in the low to mid 50s for basically brand new cars.

I will hold out for the next gt500.

1) You do realize that dealers always do that with new "special edition" cars, right? It's not a Ford conspiracy.
2) At $50k+ it's still $20k+ cheaper than the Z28. ******* the GT350 for not having exactly the same equipment as the Z28 in its base form does absolutely nothing to help your argument. These are both awesome cars, going off the deep-end about one of them to counter-act what somebody else does for the other doesn't make anybody look particularly intelligent.
