ALERT! Coming to a "BLING"-mobile near you.
Oh my freaking lord......
LED's on spokes of a spinner....
That once you spin them.....
They start making light paterns and words....
...
The worse part is you can hook it wirelessly into a Palm, and control what the text says or paterns display.....oh lord help us all....

yeah everyone has a good point. those are just gay and uncalled for. but u know if they legal someone will have them on because 1 no one will have them and 2 they "think they are COOL". to whoever thought of that.

FYI, this technology was used as early as 2002 by the Toyota CART team. They had a Toyota logo projected from their wheels during races. The system design is pretty straightforward; the real issue is building electronics that can withstand the forces, vibrations, and heat generated on your average wheel.
Although the system can be made to flash, this is not the usual operation. The effect is much more like having a 'Lite Brite' hanging in front of your wheels. In other words, if neon alongside or under your car is legal, these might also be--especially if they avoid using colors like blue and red that might be confused with an emergency vehicle.
If these really bother you, I'd suggest getting some legislation drafted as soon as possible. But then you won't be surprised when you get pulled over because your exhaust is too loud. I say let the kids have their fun. The whole thing is really too amusing to discourage!
