GM Employee Discount for EVERYONE!
GM is offering the GM Employee Discount to ANYONE who is buying a GM car until July 5th (except Corvette and medium duty trucks). I just saw it in the paper yesterday but I'm not sure how much of a discount it is. A little FYI info., hope this helps.

Thats just crazy. GM must be really hurting.
A friend down the street bought a 1500hd crew cab that was pretty much loaded and got just about 5000 off from a GM employee Discount.

How much for a new Astro van? Yes I know! But there is nothing out there that is med-size and carries eight adults.

I can see it now,
"Hey! I just bought a GMC Yukon Denali for $38K, it was $50K on the sticker, so I saved $12,00!!" ...no silly man, you just didn't overpay $12,000 for a $38,000 car.
Over the last few years GM has had to atrificially raise prices every year in order to increase rebates. Not a very sustainable business and now GM is reaping what it sewed.

its a marketing deal for gm sounds great to general public but GM employes now get no discount glad i got my truck when i did 5g in rebates ontop of my employe discount
it is a great deal for off the street customers though no haggiling at all it is what it is
but keep in mind say you save 3-5g with the discount compared to 3k rebate and haggle to a lil over invoice now your talking 6-7k in savings so whos making out in the long run

What are you talking about GM employes don't get the discount??? So everyone in america but GM employes don't????? That makes no sense what so ever. And you still get the rebates along with the employe discount, its not one or the other.

I got my T/A when I got the GM supplier discount (Employee + 1% I beleive), but I also got close to $2500 in additional discounts. Walked away with a LOADED T/A (everything but the WS6 package) for roughly $23,500 when the sticker was $29,750. Not too shabby.
Good luck to GM, I'm going German for my next car purchase, probably an Audi.

I bought a 05 Tahoe LT using this promo. It seems like the GM pricing is about 1-1500 less than invoice. Here's a summary on my purchase.
MSRP: 43450
plus: $100 for pinstripes
The only extra options this tahoe had was side air bags (350), wheel flares(180) and white lettered tires (125)
44450 total msrp
GM price: 36800
price after 3K rebate: 33800
GM card $2850
I thought I could get 2500, but GM allowed my entire balance
down payment $4000
I didn't pay for any BS dealer fees other than the normal inventory tax ($115), licensing and doc. fee ($50). Total fees and licensing was $290.
Interest rate was 4.4%
sales tax (6.25% in Tex) $1942
total financed was 29306 at 4.4%
IMO this is a good deal considering I could never get another makes full-size SUV at this price. The LT is quite nice and you cant go wrong with a GM V8, auto with RWD. this SUV should last well over 200K miles

I cant remember the mag but the pres of GM said a while ago that he wanted to sell cars through rebates. That does not sound like a solid plan to me. I really dont care for the pres of gm or lutz any more. I wish someone like John Z D. would run the company. I am sure that has to be someone in GM that had the same drive as JZD did thos many years ago at GM.
