CTS-V - Which Headers

CTS-V - Which Headers
Hello -
Building a stroked LS3 block to 406 Cu with a TVS SUpercharger. It is in a 2004 CTS-V. Engine is forged as well and can hold 16 - 18 pounds of boost. However, I normally use LG for headers but they do not make a CTS-V header. So, which are the best headers for the CTS-V? I would want 1 7/8. I am thinking Kooks or ARH. What do you guys recommend.

I'm still a noob when it comes with headers but I believe those are your only 2 selections when it comes to out of the box and install headers that are 1 7/8ths.

Header Choices
1 7/8" Kooks D-ports here, but you can't go wrong with either ARH or Kooks.
Even though these brands are stainless steel, having them (and the cat tubes) coated is beneficial. A quality coating (exterior and interior on the headers) will reduce engine compartment and interior cabin heat as well as keeping heat in the exhaust to keep it's velocity up and also aid in firing off the cats.
As a generalization, for a given displacement, a larger tubing will tend to move the power to the upper end of the curve at the expense of some bottom end.
With that said, the larger displacement or supercharged motors seem to favor the larger pipes.
The ultimate (but cost prohibitive) header would probably be a Burns stainless stepped tri-y setup with merge collectors into a Burns x-pipe, all Jet-Hot coated of course!

Wise choice. Have the same on my C6 and never an issue. Look into getting them jet-coated, or wrapped, as with roots-style blower, heat is a constant foe.
This vendor coats both the inside and outside:

If your looking for killer headers for your CTS-V look no further than TPIS they were making a great product for many years but they asked use to take there original design and give it the ARH treatment making it the best choice for your CTS-V. We do not sell them you must get them from TPIS

We will be getting contact with TPIS tommorow or monday regarding this as of now we have not made a 1-7/8's for them. So we will see if this is something they would like to do or you could call them direct and let them know there is a demand for it
