Default Cam questions

Found a slightly used Comp XFI XR275HR CAM for $150

Intake Exhaust

Valve lift 0.566 0.568

Duration @.50 222 228

Duration 275 277

lsa 112 Rpm 1,800-6,800

What's you opinion on this cam? I will probably do a blower some time in the future. Thanks for you help

That will work well with your V and is blower friendly.

is this considered a prettty mild cam? How much whp gain with a good tune?

it is a very mild cam. you wont see much gain at the wheel with it, if any. the best thing about that cam specs is that you can go blown very easily with it.

Lift is .525/.525
Intake 118 Degrees Duration 204
Exhaust 114 Degrees Duration 211
LSA 116 Degrees

with long tubes youll see about a 20-25rwhp gain from this cam. If you truly plan to go blown, get a custom grind you wont regret it. Your biggest killer will be the LS2 intake manifold.

my advise is to go with at least a mid to high 22x cam with close to .600 on lift and intake

The guy at my local Vette shop said to go with a 224/228 on a 114+2.
He said thats a good cam to get with a blower in my future

The 224/228 on XE-R lobes is a fairly common blower grind with Vette guys. I have a 227/232 .617 .595 114+2 cam along with the Kooks I am ordering today. I am still exploring a meth intercooled Procharger setup in the future as well. I was not going to mod this car but **** it, I have modded every other vehicle I have owned so why stop.

Remember that the V is HEAVY so you should be considering a MID- size cam for ramp rates and torque.

I had a 220/225/571 in my CTSV, it made 390RWHP 385TQ, I was super happy!

It screamed as well!
