LS7 Clutch in an 04 V

LS7 Clutch in an 04 V
Well I took it to a garage last night and we did a few things and determined that my car needs a clutch, not a synchro/rebuild. We ran it through all the gears with the car on and off and on and off again and it went in fine every time. Feels like my clutch isn't engaging, so we're figuring either a slave or a clutch, either way they're both being replaced.
I just got off the phone with luke and he told me 635+shipping for the whole deal, I guess it includes the pressure plate, ls7 clutch, flywheel, and an LS7 slave cylinder.
My questions are as follows:
1. What's the better way to do this? Notch the bell housing, or bend the tube for the slave? Are there any definitive pictures of where to notch the bell housing on the internet?
2. Is it better to just forget the slave and use the katech spacer, or pony up and replace the slave cylinder while I'm in there?
3. How much more of a pain is it to put the ls7 equipment in this car rather than just replacing it with stock items?
Any tips would be very appreciated.

The LS7 is easier because it doesn't weigh as much. The LS7 slave is an easy install as well and I would recommend picking up a remote bleeder for a C6 Vette from LAPD or any vendor that sells them for the new vette. As long as you have the remote bleeder there is no need to notch the bell housing. The metal tube will have to be bent to fit in the V (be very careful and use large radius bends) The only hard part is trying to figure out where to put all the extra hose the Vette slave has but it all fit in there nicely as long as you lay it in right. I have been down this road many times! Also, I recommend changing the slave anytime the trans is out of the car. It may just be my luck but after every clutch change in the V (which has been way to many) WITHOUT changing the slave, I had a catastrophic throwout bearing failure that required a new slave. After the new slave, not a single problem. I have changed the clutch about 3 times in the last year and a half because of bad pressure plates. Each time the slave was fairly new so I didn't bother replacing it at the time of the clutch swap. Every one of those required a new throwout bearing after a few thousand miles. I now have a new LS7 slave and an Exedy twin and the clutch has been flawless since.

The slave comes with the bearing but and I'm pretty sure they come with bolts but I bought ARP fro everything I put in so I dont know if the one from Lukes deal comes with them or not. You will need flywheel bolts. Personally, I would just buy some ARP pressure plate and flywheel botls and be done with it. They are an extra 40 bucks but I like the insurance.

Well they aren't a vendor so I might get in trouble but here it goes!
This one is a little pricey. I'm sure you can find one cheaper just make sure it fits the C6 Corvette and you should be ok. I bought this same bleeder but they were on sale for $50 when I bought mine.
