Default 2006 V, bluetooth iPhone question

Hey everyone,

I just got an iPhone 4S and want to connect it through Bluetooth to my 06 V. From my research, the Costar Bluestar looks like a good solution. I also want to be able to plug in the phone and integrate it with the headunit to listen to music. I have looked in to the USA Spec PA-15 for that. Does anyone know if these devices will play well together?

At the end of the day I want to be able to use BT to talk and have the option of pugging in to listen to music and charge.

Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

On my 04 I have the Galaxy 1000 and USA Spec PA15-Vette. They work well together, and give exactly what you describe. Sometime I leave my phone in my pocket and just use the Galaxy 1000 for BT Phone, other times I plug in for music and still have the bluetooth option available. One thing to note is that neither the Galaxy 1000 or CoStar folks have cracked the code for getting Caller ID to display on the radio screen, so it'll just say "On Star" but no number. For that reason, I will often open the ashtray and sit my iPhone in there so I can see the screen and know who's calling.

USA spec also has a new model PA-50vette, that has a improved interface for Ipod controls and has a optional BT add on that should be out soon, I have that unit installed in my 06 V, it's nice because you can pick manual control or integrated use of the ipod through the radio unlike the old model which you have to set a switch on the unit.

Does the pa15-vette or pa50-vette remove the static that the pa11 seems to have? Changing from xm1(ipod) to xm2 and while listening to xm2(sat radio) can hear some static at times.

I can do that on my PA-15Vette as well, I switch it into direct mode and then back right on the Nav unit.

Thanks for the feedback. I just installed the PA15-VETTE. Install was pretty easy, hardest part was getting the iPod wire under the carpet from the back seat to the console.

Is the pa-50 out yet? The link from the other forum thread to it was bad.

I love the PA15-VETTE. Terrific sound quality + steering wheel controls + charging. Just ordered the PA50-VETTE with the optional Bluetooth module to go with my new iPhone 4S. I'll let you know how it goes.

Default where'd you find the PA-50VETTE?

Where'd you find the PA-50VETTE & Bluetooth module for sale?

I just got the PA-15VETTE for Christmas (haven't installed it yet) & would rather have the PA-50VETTE w/ Bluetooth.

Any idea why I can't find the PA-50VETTE on either USA SPEC's or Crutchfield's websites?

Thanks!

I'd like to know where to get the pa50 vette too. How much did you pay for it and the module(bluetooth)?

Have the Galaxy 1000 now, and work issued me an iPhone 4. Leaving the Bluetooth on, is there a way to have the phone automatically connect is Bluetooth to the Galaxy? It does that with my TMo G2, but not the iPhone. Rebooted the phone too, no luck.

There is no PA50-Vette Bluetooth available and no way of knowing when USA Spec might develop it.
