Default Speedometer & Accelerometer Not Working

Hey, quick one: I just removed and reinstalled my clutch to fix that clutch disengagement issue that some of you may recall me complaining about.

The good news is that I fixed the problem (story for a different thread). The bad news is that I think I messed up the wiring harness or mis-wired the transmission, because I lost my speedometer and accelerometer. I'm hoping that I accidentally switched two wires, but I'm afraid that I didn't because everything else works (tach, reverse lights, transmission oil temperature).

Questions: do you recall which wiring harnesses control the speedometer and reverse lockput? The car knows when I put it in reverse (R symbol lights up on the dash), but I'm guessing that I could do it anywhere because I have to force my way through the reverse gate when stopped. I think the accelerometer sensor is up in the center console (in front of the shifter)--I can't imagine that I damaged it, but maybe I pulled its wiring harness apart when I was putting the shifter back in.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Swap the reverse lockout and the speed sensor harness. They get swapped all the time by people doing clutch swaps.

I accidentally did the tach and something else once. Can't remember which ones they are. Do you remember?

Raven beat me to it.

I did same thing on clutch install. Just reverse them. IIRC one is orange and one is maybe purple? They have the same exact plug though.

Reverse lockout is on the left and high and the speed sensor is under it but not sure which side.

Yep, got it. Thanks guys (and thank you service manual). I reversed the transmission temperature and speedometer. Accelerometer came back when speedometer came back. Funny thing: the signal output from those ports are formatted similarly, because it turns out I could rev the engine with the transmission in gear and watch my transmission oil temperature increase 60-70 degrees in less than a second. The poor computer was very, very confused.

Hmm I wonder if you unplug the speedometer and drive, if the miles wouldn't increase. Did you drive at all like that fuzzy?

Your suspicions are correct. The mileage didn't increase over the one day I drove it like that (~7 miles).
