Default 2005 Head stud kit?

Is it ARP 234-4317 that everyone is using?

Same length studs?

Thats a negatory, ls6 takes two different size studs. Don't remember the exact model number but call summit and they will direct you to the right part.

hmm.. well I guess Ill call or can someone confirm as this doesnt make sense then:

all pre 04 blocks had the different length head bolts.
all 04+ had the ones that were the same length. regardless of LS1/6/5.3/4.8...etc

And the part number 234-4317 says:
12-Point Nuts
Chevy LS1, LS6, 5.7/6.0L
2004 Engines
Fits engines with all same length studs.

^^I was told that '04 was the year that had both sets (different length and same length head bolts). I just did a head swap on my LS6 and they were the same length head bolts, but I ordered both sets so that I wouldn't be down due to getting the wrong head bolts. I plan to return the other set.

Maybe time to take yours apart and look, but It should take smaller studs for the row next too the valley, and the 10 other studs would be the larger ones.

I was also getting ready to purchase the Head studs for my cam install, but I don't want to purchase both sets.

Also, I was told the studs make it harder to remove the heads than the bolts. can anyone confirm this?

I can't speak to the difficulty of removing heads with studs on, but removing the heads with the bolts off is cake.

Also, I just replaced my head bolts and they're all the same length in 04.

234-4317 I just got that kit, so that better not be the wrong one!

(haven't opened the box)

I just took my heads off last night. The 5 along the bottom and the 5 inside the heads are all big bolts. The 5 on top along the valley are alot smaller. This kit better have all of them.
