Default Help CtsV radio!!!!!

http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/7648/note11.snb
Need help!!!

I was replacing the radio ***** on my 2005 cts v and i accidentally tore the copper looking wire/tab that connects the ***** to the actual radio. Now my radio dial, seek, and cd eject buttons are no longer working. What is the simplest way in getting this fixed/replaced. Thanks guys!

Do they work if you touch both parts of the copper tab to each other?

Only right way would be to replace it. You will never be able to buy that part and I don't know of any way to repair a ribbon cable. You could try to rig it with some tape and conductive pen but I highly doubt you will be successful and or a lasting fix.

I repaired a tear like that for a forum guy.

You can't buy that part alone & radio replacement is around $1K.

I may just have one of those at home, I'll check when I get home tonight. I have two complete Nav units reduced to parts from modding.

Sounds like a fun time.

I would recommend getting a razor and stripping away about 1/16 of an inch of the plastic off on each end (one side only). Then line up and epoxy them to something flat (PCB material maybe, or anything). Then soldering the traces together with a single piece of fine wire.

I have a full headunit out of my 06 I'll sell ya. I'd rather sell the whole unit than part it out, cause I no longer have a need for it and would rather not have radio parts laying around. Lol
