Default 04 CTS-V Shrader Valve??

I know I can't be the only person with this issue/problem. I have an 04 CTS-V with a MP112 on it and I just realized there is no shrader valve on the fuel rails? So without trying to reinvent the wheel, what is the common fix for this? I know I can get an assortment of fittings and plumb one in there, but just looking for suggestions on how others have solved this issue.

You can probably drill/tap the square fuel adapter that bolts to the rails and install your own.

Yup. They have front and rear cross overs (front -AN and rear hard steel tube) and the fuel inlet is on the passenger side, by the #6 injectors IIRC. It's a machined block and there is a rubber extension line from the OE fule line to the block on the fuel rails.

Looking back, that doesn't make a lot of sense unless you've seen it before, LOL. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Yeah I may look into tapping that fuel block piece. Just trying to avoid a collection of fittings to make it work. Can't believe they just didnt tap a rail to begin with???

I have checked yet but can you read fuel pressure with a scanner?

No, not on a 04. There are no factory rail pressure sensors.
Its static regulated for 58psi.

Why is not having a Schrader valve an issue?

Because I may be having a fuel issue but can't readily check it like I can on every other car I have ever owned...lol

Throw a sending unit for a fuel pressure gauge on it, this answers your original post and you had basically answered it yourself - but unless you have changed something in the fuel system, it will just hover around 58psi all the time.
Schrader valve are there for depressurizing the system. If you were going to put in a tiny gauge right on the rail, you could only check at idle and revving with no load, so you would be back to the original idea of installing a sending unit with a gauge on the inside.

Maybe we should be asking questions like:
How do you "know" you "MAY" be having a fuel issue?
Do you not have access to a scanner?

That's my point, there is no plugged hole in the system that I can just open up and install a gauge sending unit without either installing some fittings or drilling and tapping that block previously mentioned. Usually you can just remove the schrader valve and install a sending unit in its place. So in an effort to not reinvent the wheel I wanted to see how others accomplished this task.

Sorry to hear. My GTO MP112 has a valve on the driverside rail. Maybe you can install a Tee fitting w/an adaptor on one of the crossovers and install a gauge.
