60' times posted by you drag racers
I have MIR rented out with a group of friends and co-workers for this coming Monday.
I have spent PLENTY of time on the dragsteip but never in a V. Now that I have the rear end, axles and driveshaft sorted it's time to see what it can do.
What kind of 60' times have you guys pulled? Any specific launch technique or tire pressure/suspension setups you have found to work best???

There will be plenty of footage! For some reason my breather line on the trans is spewing fluid when I romp on the car so trying to get that sorted.
Going through the 1/4 mile thread in here isn't real promising looking at the V1 times. Lots of 2.0 and 2.1 short times in there... I used to pull 2.0s in a stock VR6 front wheel drive VW gti on all season tires. Surely these will go much deeper than that!
It's hard to determine whether the seemingly slow times are due primarily to inexperience on the dragstrip or some fundamental flaw that these cars cant get off the line... Ultimately a lot of the times I see posted in there for guys with superchargers aren't really any faster than I'd expect these cars to run stock on a sticky set of tires and a good driver

With the stock rear end, we're stuck with IRS, softish Cadillac bushings and a 3850lb car all on 245mm tires. It's just not a recipe for a launch car.
When I went I was over a 1,000 miles from home so I did light 2k launches but I thought the car did fine with that and I didn't have any wheelhop issues. But yea 2.1x times for me...

Thanks for all the replies.
Im running the Mickey Thompson ET Street II. 265/40/18s. Dont really hook on the street but It isnt a total smokeshow either. Lower air pressure, more heat from a burnout and a prepped track surface should help with that
Im really hoping for sub 1.7s. We'll see, I have all day to hopefully get a good consistent launch technique

Good luck though again! I hope you nail a 1.6' that would be awesome! You would be the first that I knew of!
Stageup has videos on youtube of his H/C/I car running 12.1 with a 2.0 60" time

Nice. You can hear the wheels hopping in the burnout box pretty bad before they really start spinning fast. It's bizzarre how some of these diffs take such a beating, while others would have broken on the first hop in the burnout box.
And yea...dallas...no good. Lol
