Default LSA supercharger on V1?

I have done a little searching and know they sell the adapter plates ect. Will the LSA blower even fit under the stock hood of a V1 with the adapter plates. Anyone know of a full write up of someone that has done it with a complete parts list?

It will not even come close to fitting under the stock hood with adapters, let alone without adapters. A guy just posted pics of his build on facebook and he had to cut 3 different holes in the hood (without adapters). There is no full write-up because it's only been done once or twice to my knowledge (but there are plenty of people who don't post on the internet about their projects). You would be a pioneer if you documented your build on here.

Is that yours? Anyone know of an aftermarket hood with a tall enough cowl to fit? Most of the aftermarket ones look like the cowl is pretty small

Whoops, only 2 holes. There are no hoods that will clear it. The Extreme Composites hood doesn't have any extra clearance, sadly enough. Time to go custom!

And no, that's not his car. That's the one I was talking about. He put down 590whp.

No, that is not my car.

A few things though....zl1 lid is taller (v2 guys often mill the top of the lid and sometimes drop the motor a tad lower.....also the HX lines com off the front of the ZL1, the V2 lid the lines come off the rear and the front of the lid is sloped....
Attached is a stock V2 lid.....

But the ZL1 lid is larger volume and has a bigger IC brick and puts out more power...decisions...decisions....

I would be more concerned about fitting it under any hood than the extra 30 HP for now lol

The intake will still hit regardless. I've been mocking up a hood with a cowl but I haven't gone full dedicated to it. Need more time. I've had my LSA blower for almost a year now. I should have a hood done hopefully by Christmas. That's if I get the time for finish the mold and lay fiber.

Your blower is on your V1 or you just have it?

i was actually just researching this yesterday also, sucks to hear that even the Extreme Composites hood won't clear the snout.

it seems to me that a LSA blower setup can be done noticeably cheaper than the Maggie setup with roughly the same power results..... please correct me if i'm wrong. if so maybe the cost difference will be enough to cover a custom hood to be made. i personally think a hump like what you see on the late model 350Z (rather than a cowl) could look nice if done right.

I'm not on Facebook so I can't read about this. I had looked seriously at this option.... I'd love to know the details and how its mounted without adapters.

From what I can tell the maggie doesn't have the capacity to easily produce more than say 550hp...it's too small to move more air than that.

We're seeing V2s pushing 700 no problem on stock blowers so I'm not really sure when it runs out of breath but I think it's safe to say it moves more air than the maggie.

CNC machined adaptors.... one side of the adaptor has rectangle holes and the other side has cathedral holes..... the bolt holes line up, just need longer bolts. there's a member on here, Third-Gen, who makes/sells them but he's not a vendor even tho he's tried to become one. i'll see if i can grab the thread that has photos of them. he started out making them 1" thick but i believe he's gotten them down to 1/2".

that's GREAT to hear then.
a used LSA blower + lid + new coupler + adaptors = $1500-ish?
a Maggie setup runs close to $7k..... just doing some mental math it seems a LSA setup can be done between $4-5k?
if it'll safely produce 500rwhp on a V1 and save me $2k in the process....

awwww yeeeeahhhh!!!

The car that's pictured says he didn't use adapters...so either its ls3 style heads or some other deal.
