Default Clear Foglights Group Buy (now with HQ photos)

Hi guys, sorry for lack of response. I've been waiting on getting a sample pair of the foglights so I can provide higher quality photos. Check them out below:

CTS-V Clear Foglight Front

CTS-V Foglight Back

Here's the story, and the great news: there will be no core exchange program! These are brand new, fully-complete lights...no more hack-job of pulling apart the old lights, which is much better for me and for you . In order to get this done, I need 25 orders at $250 per pair (including free shipping to the 48 US States) in order to do this. Once I reach enough pre-orders it should take about 40 days to ship them to you guys.

I set up a group buy on Partlabs.com. Here's how it works: If the pre-order goal is reached your credit card gets charged the $250, if the goal is not reached in 60 days your card WILL NOT be charged. This way it's no-risk...if we get to 25 orders, everyone gets charged and gets their lights - if not, no one gets charged a dime.

Link to group buy:

I don't check these forums too often so if you have any questions shoot me an email at dowlatij@gmail.com.

These appear to be the same lights available on ebay from Depo at the same price, except the ebay one are available now. In fact, I can see the name DEPO on the lens in your pictures.

Agree. Scratching my head as to why he's calling them clear when he knows that in the V1 world, clear has long meant fully clear like these:

Fuzzy, are those clear functional? From the things that I have heard the people that have made the clear mod, dont have fog lights that are truly functional

From my reading here(other threads) I thought there were fitment issues with the STS fog lights. Am I mistaken? I am all about OEM quality so those were interesting to me.

I would guess his are functional since he's retrofit the projectors. I had some years back that I paid someone to put the Lexan covers on, with no mods to the bulbs or reflector housings, and they were definitely ineffective. Well, I guess they kind of became driving lights - spot beams rather than diffused fog light beams.

The OEM STS foglights, which have a projector in them (like so), do not fit - they're too tall and (as you can see in the pics in that ad) they mount differently. It would take some effort to modify them to fit, and I don't know that anyone has ever done so.

The OEM STS-V foglights are the just like the CTS-V lights, but with clear turn signal/DRL lenses instead of amber. (In other words, they look like the lights in the first post.)

Indeed. Well, I guess this "deal" is a $10 savings compared to the listings I see on Ebay, but good luck waiting for 25 people to sign up so you can get that $10. I'm not sure what Persian-V missed, these light assemblies have been known about for years.

Aha! This makes much more sense. Added to my shopping list. Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, the price on the OEM STS-V lights has gone up considerably. I'm guessing you purchased yours a while back?

I bought and installed the eBay versions last year. The fitment is perfect.

Yeah, my fogs have projection lenses. You need a hole cutter and some brackets to do the job right and make the angle of the projection lenses adjustable. Since Lexan is prone to pitting and scratching, it's a good idea to put a 3M clear shield over them.

Years back, I was going to do a write up, but later decided against it when I decided to replace my fog assemblies with full intake ducts and LED bars.

You pretty much have to make those yourself. They look nicer but do not really work as fog lights any more (although I live in AZ so not sure I really care...)

So these are still the go to? One of my fog lamps needs attention, I dislike the orange, so I wish to upgrade.

Those would appear to be the right ones. I've had them on my car for years, no issues.

Fairly certain these are the same ones on Amazon - https://smile.amazon.com/Cadillac-06...llac+foglights.

I was considering doing the same thing. Do you have any pics or more info?
