Angry Who The Hell Makes A Better Diff!!! Bmr, What???

I just blew the **** out of my rear diff! It was cracked all the way around and lets talk about BMR! I HAD the rack pinion support brace and twisted the **** out of it. How much stronger does it really make it? All of my bolts were missing and I just had to yank it off the Diff before towing my V to Sewell Cadillac. How many people out there have broken this peace??? I have 370whp and 365torque and I destroyed my diff. I know for face that there are guys out there with more power and not having this problem! Is it the fact that I shift to hard or is it because its a "CADILLAC"....

Lots of people break their rear ends, from stock to heavily modified. I don't believe the BMR was ment to make your rear stronger, only reduce wheel hop.

It's pretty much common knowlege that the rearend is WAY under rated even for the power a stock V puts out, so unless you drive like a 90 yr old Grandma, it's only a matter of time! The '06 rear is stronger, but still under rated. The only good solution is to get a rear like the Madman we've been waiting for.

The BMR pinion brace just helps to minimize the 'clunk' when parade shifting at low RPM's. Doesn't make anything stronger.

its just a pinion brace, not a structural piece. Keeps your pinion at a consistant angle to reduce clunk. No structural rigidity. There are 3 aftermarket co's. working on new diffs as I type. Stay tuned.

Well I am getting new rear-end number 5 now...There goes the 06 rear end don't whine theory...

I did drive a c6 today REALLY NICE! Like driving a race car and the rear makes no noise..It doesnt even hop!!

Only downside is the interior is a god-dang sardine can, and the leather cracks...

I mean Rear diff but whatever it was I had to take off the Stupid BMR brace before I could give it to them and it was cracked open all the way around, hell ya they rag the V's. This guy named Gordy ive met, has his supercharged V is up there and they were driving it when i showed up! I know exactly what they doing.

Well, threads like this convinced me not to get a CTS-V. I'm abusive as he|| on stuff and it sounds like it's relatively easy to frag the rear on these cars.

I'm in the same boat PSJ, went and drove an '05 yesterday. I really want to get one but I'm not down for spending $6k on an aftermarket rear end just to be able to have a good time on the street. Madness. I'm really disappointed. Not sure what to buy now.

The rears are not that bad and they are under warranty, remember that.

Overall the number of failed rear diffs is still very low I bet.

http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/doorpanel.html

23 % replaced one or more times.... This is the enthusiast crowd too, so I bet the actual percentage is way lower...

only about 8% were actual failures too...

Sure, but I would definitely consider myself among the most abusive 23% of enthusiasts. How many can say they've busted a 9" with a spool on the street?
