Default C5 or C6 shifter in CTS-V

I do not know if this has been tried but has anyone attempted to fit an aftermarket C5 or C6 shifter to the CTS-V? There some really nice choices out there.

I don't see how you'd do it. It's not set up the same way I don't think.

Maybe F body or Viper because they use the same box in the same relative location?

I have only had the Cobra and F body transmissions out. The C5/6 has the torque tube / rear transaxle going on but I think it is the same box. How the shifting gets there is all voodoo to me.

the v's use a linkage that goes tords the front of the tranny, the f body goes straight down into the tranny and the vette i think has a linkage that goes to the back right? the v is in a leauge of its own here i think....

a guy named 'norm' did it.....dunno if he's on this board or not...I know he's on caddy forums....either way I don't see the point...there's quiet a few choices out there in V land too. b&m, katech, UUC, tpis modifies the stock shifter...I'm sure I'm missing one or two.

Not worth the hassle. Get a ready made aftermarket one.

I have the UUC and love it. I know a lot of people are really happy with the B&M as well. I really wish that MGW would make a shifter for our cars though.

I contacted MGW and they may consider making a shifter later this year. Contact them to let them know you are interest too at http://www.mgwltd.com/.

I am going to hold out a little longer because I have not had a lot of long term luck with B & M products. The MGW piece is a work of art.

i cant say enough about the B&M...slight noise in 5th gear at
high rpms ( intermitantly) tight short throws, gated feel, crisp shifting..
stock **** sux ***...but the holden unit looks nice(i cant seem to locate one)

Try a stock C5 shifter. Fits in the same place as the original, just 2" shorter and not a major change in effort.
