So I have the car mostly buttoned up with the ls7 clutch, but am having heck of a time getting the slave cylinder hose connected to the master cylinder hose (the big plastic fittings). I get the concept of where the pin needs to go to hold the connection together, but getting it in there is a real PITA. Are there any tricks?

(i am assuming you connect it all then shove the pin in, i tried putting the pin in first then pushing, but that seemed even worse)

I may just need to go stare at it longer, but figured plenty of you have done the same swap.

I should delete this before anyone who has done this realizes I'm an idiot, but in case it happens to someone else, make sure to watch how it came off the slave when you take it out, it straddles the "bridge" across the slot, i.e. one arm of the pin goes into each slot... not both arms into the slot.

I knew that this was far to easy to have this much trouble with it...

Haha. I'm pretty sure it's easier to reassemble with the retainer already installed in the connector. That way it just snaps together.

I don't think that will work.. I recall trying several times..

I hate that damn connector. The first 2 times a had the slave out I fought it for hours and gave up, then the next day it snapped right on. The 3rd time I couldn't get it. I had to leave the clip halfway in and tape it together. I just try to pretend it's not like that when I drive.

You have to be gentle yet forceful and straight but at an angle. Easy right?

Glad i am not the only one. Once I realized I was trying to install it in the wrong orientation it slid right in with a reasonable amount of pressure. (i knew once i posted this in the forum a solution would come to me...) It is an awkward job though you really could use three hands

You might be able to do it with the clip pre-installed, but once I found a method that worked i wasn't about to take it apart and see what else would work

Done it several times now - put the pin in - push the pieces together - snap

It would have been a lot less time consuming to say "Oklahoma City", than to take the time to prntscrn, mspaint, draw lines, and upload.

I guess being a douchebag is worth the extra effort for some people.

Also, the mobile theme doesn't have locations.

ha!, I walked into that one. Exactly the response I would expect. I'm so used to the tapatalk app, which doesn't show ****, that I didn't even look.

Which reminds me, I need to change the UA string on this page so I can utilize the mobile version. Typing in this reply box is brutal.

Did you do a remote bleeder or the stock one?

i did the remote bleeder seemed like a no brainer. through some miss communication and the bent bleeder being sent i had my car up on jackstands for an extra two weeks waiting for it.

I just bought a mity vac it just is taking forever to get any pedal.

I usually just gravity bleed it and close the bleeder, pump the pedal up, crack the bleeder, push the pedal down, close the bleeder, and repeat for about 9 hours.

yeah i'm 2 hours in and decided to eat dinner and watch the olympics. I knew it would take time but could not have told you it would be the longest step in the whole clutch/flywheel install.
